Women on Wheels, W.O.W, is a unique support group for women with SCI, that meets weekly at The Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC to discuss various topics related to living with a spinal cord injury such as dating and sexuality, self-image, relationships with family, partners and friends, education, independence, co-dependence, self-advocacy, and dis/Ability as identity - from the female perspective.
Women represent less than 20% of the SCI population. Their issues and challenges are often lost in a world dominated by men and male issues. W.O.W. is a priceless resource that offers women with SCI the opportunity to support and empower each other on their journey toward independence and active healthy lifestyles.
Register to run, walk or roll on May 30th and help support the ladies of W.O.W.
