Runners will follow the park’s main loop drive, completing a 5 kilometer lap of the park, to finish at CENTER DRIVE/THE NETHERMEAD. There will be mile markers along the course. Water will be available at the half-way mark and at the finish. There will be bag drop on race day and of course, a post-race snack.
This year we are very excited to have NYCRUNS on board as our race manager so you can be assured that the event will be professionally run by one of NYC's premier road race managers. All participants and volunteers must register for our race through the NYCRUNS website.
Run for a Cause
Traumatic spinal cord injuries (SCI) occur approximately 30 times a day across the United States. 80% of those injuries effect young men, ages 16 to 30 years of age; presenting tremendous physical, emotional and financial challenges as they face living with paralysis. The Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Awareness 5K is a community effort by 5 of NYC's leading SCI non-profits. Together we are working to help people with spinal cord injuries maximize their independence and quality of life. You can help make a difference by registering and fund raising for this very worthy cause. All donations will be accepted by the Alan T Brown Foundation and are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Proceeds will be shared between all of our charity partners.
